Course Presented by Dr. Victor Sternberg
40 years of clinical practice have clearly revealed the value and effectiveness of nonsurgical periodontal therapy if applied in an efficacious manner.
I will be presenting a course that will cover current knowledge and approaches to management of periodontal disease in a nonsurgical manner. The course will discuss the use of culturing to identify pathogens responsible for the patient's periodontitis. In addition, diagnosis instrumentation will be explored comparing the effectiveness of hand and ultrasonic instruments. The use of the Perioscope to visualize subgingival will be part of the discussion as a method to enhance the outcomes of nonsurgical periodontal therapy to ensure total calculus removal. Finally, specific instrumentation as well as sharpening will be demonstrated as part of this program.
Continuing Education credits will be available through the Ninth District Dental Society.
